Phil grew up in Sandusky, Ohio and was a water rat in all the marinas and boatyards in town. Phil started working full time in the marina industry during the 1980s as yacht crew, delivery captain, and as a fuel dock attendant.  After graduating from Maine Maritime Academy in 1991, Phil began managing marinas and boatyards in the Sandusky area. In 2005, Phil and his family moved to Fort Myers Beach, Florida where he continued his marina management career and also  became a pirate captain on the Pieces of Eight pirate cruise in Fort Myers Beach for several years.


Phil is a lover of older boats and classic styles. He has restored over 20 pleasure craft up to 25ft. in length. Currently, Phil owns a 1975 23ft. Mako that he restored from the trailer up and also a 1967 30ft. Alberg Sailboat, he keeps both in Fort Myers, Florida.



Dock master David Rolle is a passionate, professional, gifted, and dynamic community individual who has since the tender age of 10 worked in the Marina Industry. As a young professional, David has acquired a cadre of skill sets such as Shelter Management, Basic Fire Fighting & First aid training, and licensed Captain.

David has been a part of the team at Bimini Bay Marina since 2005 and has built strong relationships with both new resort guests and repeat customers alike. Through these positive experiences David has received 5 star rating and mentions on Trip Advisor.

David has been awarded certification in “Customer Complaint Resolution & Quality Customer Service from, Johnson and Wales University and has received additional customer service and Leadership accreditation through Westgate Resort, American Hotel & Lodging Association & the Phoenix Institute.



Hylan Smith has worked at Bimini Bay Marina for the past 12 years. Before that he worked with Caribbean Bottling Co. in Nassau for 15 years. His favorite Bahamian Island is Bimini, where he grew up. Hylan went to High School in Nassau and is a history lover. He enjoys traveling and has a particular fascination with the Atlanta area because of its rich history. Hylan loves to meet people and is a great ambassador of the Island of Bimini.
